Dry Falls
This iconic Highlands destination is located only 4 miles from High Camp. A short 1/2 mile, paved hike rewards you with a breathtaking 80-foot waterfall that you can walk under. Did You Know? Dry Falls was featured in the 1992 movie The Last of the Mohicans.
Bridal Veil Falls
Located just 4 miles from High Camp along Highway 64. Enjoy walking and standing beneath this beautiful 60-foot waterfall. But be sure to watch out for cars!
Glen Falls
Just 4 miles from High Camp. Three, 80-foot waterfalls that drop 640 feet with an accompanying 1 mile hike. The way back up is steep, but incredibly worth it. Do not leave the trail. People have been tempted because the rock is flat, but beware - the water is very powerful.
Secret Falls
Located 7 miles from High Camp, this not-so secret waterfall is secluded in nature with an undeniable sense of mystery.
Ranger Falls Loop Trail
The 2.4 mile Ranger Falls Loop Trail is located only 7 miles from High Camp. Moderately challenging but beautiful and worth the hike.
Bust Your Butt Falls
Iconic name for an iconic place. Just 8 miles from High Camp, this natural swimming hole features a large rock slide, as well as large, flat rocks for sunbathing or having a picnic. Be careful - don’t bust your butt!
Cullasaja Falls
Only 10 miles from High Camp, this 250ft waterfall has a dramatic cliff face that is easily seen from the road.
Whiteside Mountain
6 miles from High Camp. This scenic loop is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. It is also popular with rock climbers so you may get lucky and see them making their way to the top and onto the trail. For us locals, it's a place we never hesitate to return to again and again. Yellow Mountain
4 miles from High Camp. Yellow Mountain is among the highest mountains in the Highlands Ranger District. It is a challenging hike, but worth it! At the top, you will find a fire tower built in 1934 offering a 360-degree view that is truly spectacular. Be aware of sunset time so you don’t get caught out on the trail after dark like we did! 1 mile from High Camp. Easy walking trails with beautiful views of surrounding lakes and creeks, it's a great place for kids to learn about native plants, vegetation, and wildlife.

Highlands Aerial Park
16 miles from High Camp. Family friendly with unique activities to get a different perspective of the area- ziplining, a giant swing, and more.
